Roadtrip 2022 Spring: Seaside - Bend - Boise - Park City - Grand Junction - Park City - Boise - Richland

Day 29 - Gateway, John Brown Canyon

Arrival in Gateway - there's not much to the town - but there is a very spanky and pricy spa/resort right aound the corner.

We dive into John Brown Canyon on the usual dizzying switchbacks. This road goes almost all the way to Moab!

Every canyon has its Hole In The Rock.

Blocking Cows (and calf) block our path.

A good ol' cowboy fireplace for them cookouts like in Blazing Saddles.

The last gate before civilization starts.

At this time of year - the creek is almost an arroyo.

Swoopin' the canyon.

The views are very Sedona like.

The Team ascends the World-Famous Hillary Step.

If this was Sedona - this monumental rock would definitely have a catchy name.

Sedona has a rock like that called The Capitol.

Canyonside trees and flora - the white patina is actually tiny livin' organisms - likely because there is a seep in the cliffside.

Truck waits patiently in the shade.

We've found these cowboy bunkers dug right into the cliffs all over the Southwest. They even have electricity.

The Laziest Motel in the West.
